Delightful little deli with sandwiches, wraps, soup, and salad. I had the smoked chicken wrap with a side of potato leek soup, and a cup of tea.

Friendly staff: I got the feeling this is a small-town place. They greeted many of the customers by name and asked if they wanted their usual.

Thames Ditton needs a place for the yummy mummies to flock, and when I came here it was full of them; mummies, babies, push chairs outside. I had never been here before, so navigated my way around the munchkins to see what I could have to eat.

The Lime Tree is set in very small premises, there are only around 4 tables, and all the deli stock is packed into shelves along the wall. I spied lots of yummy looking jams and preserves, as well as a range of crackers filled with herbs like thyme, sage and cracked black pepper.

The front of the shop is a cheese counter and a place to pick up coffees and paninis. The owners are definitely on to a winner here- Thames Ditton does not have a deli, so this is most welcome. I just wish that they had bigger premises to play with - when these babies get bigger they are going to need more floor space!

Imagine this, its dropping hail stones  outside in march , I dash under cover and into the lime tree cafe for some much needed caffeine and nurse the bumps on my head. I  place my order, and have to pay extra for the privilege of using the card machine? Then politely  ask to use the loo...to my astonishment the owner declined to let me sit on his regal throne and instead directed me to a dirty public loo down the street? Remember the weather...well I pointed that out too and it made no difference to him, why should a man who runs a cafe filling my bladder with a directic  have a toilet for a customer to use....surely we must accept that only him and her maj have the right to use the one on premises, not us lowly customers who pay his rent.
Well all in all, I suppose it was a good thing I had this experience, so I can prevent any of you suffering the same fate...poor manors, poor coffee, poor excuse for a cafe!
